AUTOADAPT, FLOWLIMIT, FLOWADAPT: several similar-sounding functions appear in the MAGNA3 description. They serve different purposes when planning an installation. Before choosing a particular version, establish whether the system needs automatic adaptation, a flow limit or both together.

Three names, three planning questions

The product information describes AUTOADAPT as automatic setpoint adjustment. FLOWLIMIT provides an adjustable flow limit. FLOWADAPT combines automatic setpoint adjustment with flow limitation.

This turns the feature list into practical questions: who sets the setpoint? Is a maximum flow rate specified? Should the limit operate alongside automatic adaptation? These questions help the contractor record the intended control arrangement clearly. The function names alone tell you nothing about the duty point the building needs.

The product number identifies the exact version

Two examples from the range show why the MAGNA3 series name is not enough to place an order:

These two products illustrate different versions. For the actual installation, check connection type, dimensions and hydraulic data against the relevant documents. Shared control features do not make them interchangeable. A clear match helps: the existing rating plate, the proposed replacement model and the corresponding technical drawing.

What is included with the pump, and what needs planning separately?

Both products are described as having a TFT display with a soft-touch keypad and operating-history recording. These features may be relevant to operation and later review of operating data.

For heat-energy measurement, the description specifies that an optional RPI+T2 sensor is required. Connection to a building management system is described as using optional plug-in modules. List these additional components explicitly in the quotation. Otherwise, when comparing two offers, it can be unclear whether they include only the pump or the full planned function.

The documentation must match the generation

The product pages provide instructions for different MAGNA3 model generations. Select the instructions according to the model generation on the rating plate. This also matters when preparing a replacement order: a manual with the correct series name may belong to a different generation.

Our recommendation at HKS Energy: first write down the control functions and interfaces you actually need. Then match these requirements to a specific product number and the necessary accessories. This short requirements list lets you compare the quotation and technical documentation directly. If a function remains unclear, resolve it with your contractor before ordering.
